About the Umoja House

The Umoja House is a temporary (1 day-12 months) home for migrants of all kinds, including international scholars, refugees, asylee and internally displaced persons (DV & LGBTQA+). Our home is located in Lansing, Michigan comprising of 3 houses on a single block, 8 fully furnished rooms, and 5 communal indoor and outdoor areas. The Umoja House is home to 5 chickens and 1 beautiful dog; a black lab/shepherd named Bella. Monthly public multi-cultural potluck, reading groups, and outdoor international film screenings bring out the full appreciation and unity of our global community. Rent includes furnishing, all utilities, internet, parking and access to computer, bicycle, pool, and bonfire pit. Less than a mile from Michigan State University, Sparrow Hospital, and Allen Neighborhood Center upcoming food cooperative. No deposit necessary!
